Letter to Kanye West

Image
Kanye, Apologies for the way that the media, be treating you. Ok, so please read before studying the image. The assertion that the KKK is in fact a Democratic Party offspring is a historical fact.  Many Democrats have tried to refute this history by saying that the Republican and Democratic Parties switched roles on racism when Lyndon B Johnson passed the Civil Rights Act of 1964.  This is a revisionist history, with the same binary as LBJ becoming anti bigoted after 1964.   Just not true.  The Democratic Party remains the same party that based so much of its gain on the backs of other people in the form of slavery.  Here is how voting for the Civil Rights Act of 1964 breaks down: Taken from:  Wikipedia The original House version: Southern Democrats: 7–87   (7–93%) Southern Republicans: 0–10   (0–100%) Northern Democrats: 145–9   (94–6%) Northern Republicans: 138–24   (85–15%) The Senate version: Southern Democrats...

Libertarian Party Superceding the Democratic Party

Image
As the Democratic party drifts further into insignificance and elitism, more people are waking up to the sad reality that this is no longer a party worth supporting.  As more and more Americans do not care to politicize social issues, and they shift their focus to more important things like freedom and economics, it is my hypothesis that the Libertarian party will supersede the Democratic Party. This is a natural progression since the Libertarian party will fight to decentralize government, while the Republican Party has largely superseded the original Federalist Party. This will create two parties that truly represent the majority of American voters since the United States has always had the two party system.  By offering political competition the two party system allows for a competition that creates mini revolutions every election cycle.  We are currently in one of those revolutions, and looking back through history, it clearly shows that there has always been ...

Social Safety Net

The topic of social safety net has been heavily politicized.  Anytime I am talking to a friend about libertarian ideals, they ask, "But, who is going to take care of people who cannot take care of themselves?" This is a valid question, and concern.  I cannot argue that every person alive today is fully capable of taking care of themselves.  I often like to ask people that are older, "What existed in the days before government social safety nets?" The answers are: Charities/Churches  Back in the good ole days people used to actually give money to charitable causes.  I know, who would have thought of this one!  Those barbarians, but lets continue to understand why this worked, and might offer benefits over the governments social programs. The charities were generally instituted on a more local level, and they could help the people in need in more specific and direct ways.  These needs could be extensive, covering things like job loss, hom...

Why Oprah Would Be a Fantastic Democratic Nominee for President

To boil it down to one sentence, Oprah is a self made woman.  She did not create her wealth through political gain like much of the other Democratic politicians. Looking through this lens, and seeing what a fantastic human being she is, it would be a great match up in the 2018 election to see Oprah vs. Trump.  Honestly, I don't think it would be clear cut who to vote for today without hearing and seeing some of her thoughts and projected policies.  As of this writing she would definitely contend, but with any luck we will see two more years of great economic growth under the current administration.  Oprah's calm demeanor and intelligence would put her far in front of the democratic competition.  As long as she kept a moderate and somewhat libertarian focus she would easily clean up.  It is with great hope that the deregulation that is taking place under the current administration would continue under any enlightened person who knows that government does...
